Pat Owens
Guitar, Vocals
A Baltimore-area singer/songwriter/guitarist who has been playing as long as he can remember. Pat fronted the Shane Owens Band and played small venues such as the Double Eagle, Glory Days and the Ridge Inn for a couple of years. He met Mike Needer through a mutual friend in July 2000. Together they made some personnel changes, changed the name to Bad Day Wasted, and played a few gigs together. Three of the members were let go due to scheduling difficulties and Two Fifths was the new name.

Together Mike and Pat began playing such places as Mariner’s Landing (their first show as a 2-piece group), Poplar Inn and Leadbetters Tavern in Fells Point. They were an instant success at Leadbetters and began playing there as many as 3 shows a month. By the summer of 2001 they had booked an every Thursday gig at Mariner’s Landing, as well as Fridays and Saturdays at dock bars around the Baltimore area. They continued on this course until the spring of 2002 when they added a second guitarist. They changed the band name for the last time to The Solution, and by the fall of the same year they were back at it as a 2-piece band.

Why mess with a good thing, right?
